Welcome to the realm of the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB). This is the place where creative and innovative minds can be nurtured and developed to become future leaders in electronic engineering and architecture fields. FKAB was established in 4th January 2016 which is the 9th Faculty in USIM. The main mission of FKAB is to spearhead the integration of naqli and aqli in teaching and learning, research and development, publications, and student activities in engineering and built environment. This is inline with the university’s vision and mission that is the integration of naqli and aqli. The naqli and aqli philosophy is the niche of USIM. Our mission is to produce graduates with attributes al-qawwy (professional) and al-amin (integrity).
Currently, FKAB has only two departments offering electronic engineering, electrical engineering and architecture. FKAB boasts of academic staff coming from various higher learning institutions as well as from government agencies in Malaysia. Surely, with their rich experiences in industrial practices in related disciplines, they can impart practical knowledge and skills to students.
FKAB is equipped with the latest laboratory equipment for teaching and learning and research in areas of electrical and electronic engineering, and architectures. All academic programs offered are under strict monitoring by the respective professional bodies. Electronic engineering program will apply for a full accreditation from the Board of Engineers of Malaysia (BEM) which is the signatory of the Washington Accord (WA). Hence, our electronic and electrical engineering graduates will be in a good position to be employed in a global arena. Meanwhile, the architecture has been granted the provisional recognition from the Board of Architects Malaysia (BAM).
In future, FKAB will be introducing new programs such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, quantity survey, town planning and many others. If you belong to creative and innovative minds then you are very much welcome here.
